Vw Tiguan 2010 turn light left always on

I need help with my VW Tiguan 2010, the left turn signal light stays on in the middle of the control or below the control, I changed the turn signal switch and the error persists, that another part may be damaged. Thanks you

If your 2010 VW Tiguan’s left turn signal light remains constantly illuminated even after replacing the turn signal switch, there are several potential culprits and troubleshooting steps you can take:

  1. Relay/Fuse:
    • A stuck or malfunctioning relay can cause the turn signal to stay on. Check the turn signal relay; it may need replacement.
    • Also, inspect the related fuses to ensure they’re not blown or seated incorrectly.
  2. Grounding Issue:
    • Poor grounding can lead to erratic behavior of electrical components. Check for a clean and secure ground connection for the turn signal circuit.
  3. Wiring Issues:
    • Examine the wiring leading to the turn signal light. Damaged or frayed wiring can lead to shorts or continuous power delivery.
    • Inspect the wiring harness and connectors for any signs of corrosion or damage.
  4. Control Module:
    • Modern vehicles utilize Body Control Modules (BCM) or similar electronic modules to manage various lighting functions. If this module experiences a fault or software glitch, it might cause the turn signal to remain on. A diagnostic scan might reveal a fault code related to the BCM, and a software update or reset might be required.
  5. Bulb Socket:
    • Sometimes, the issue can be as simple as a corroded or damaged bulb socket. Inspect the turn signal bulb socket for any corrosion or damage.
  6. Other Electronics:
    • Occasionally, aftermarket electronics or accessories can interfere with the car’s electrical system. If you’ve recently installed any aftermarket items, consider their potential impact.

To accurately diagnose the issue, a systematic approach is recommended:

  • Start with a visual inspection of the accessible parts.
  • Use a multimeter to check for proper voltage and grounding.
  • Consider conducting a diagnostic scan to check for any related fault codes.

If after trying the above, the problem still persists, it might be time to consult with a specialized VW mechanic or dealership to ensure a thorough inspection and diagnosis.
Hope this helps, and best of luck with your VW Tiguan!
